  • It was a pleasure to see Whizzo Williams driving Alan Newton's car and it was a shame when he stalled it on the grid. No-one had told him the 360's start up sequence. This did not stop him giving his all when he got it going. His speed and smoothness were noticeable on his way to setting the fastest race lap. He did a great job of presenting the prizes too - a real pro. It would be good to see some more guest drivers like him.

  • Just before the race Phil Burton could not decide between slicks and wets and chose the worst of all possible worlds - worn wets. Mind you, he did finish second in the race, so they can't have been that bad. Also, those advocating slicks were thankful they were safely spectating - it did look a bit wet out there!

  • The PMFC grid was down to just ten cars, possibly the smallest ever. The calendar was held partly responsible, with back-to-back overseas races, then Zandvoort, Oulton and Brands on consecutive weekends . To be fair, it is fiendishly difficult to arrange these things, as trying to get race dates There were also mumblings about high costs in what is an increasingly professional series.

  • Ted reckons his engine still isn't pulling its usual revs. Someone (who needs to be nameless) then told us what revs Ted had in mind! Didn't know 355s could do that......

  • There was a goodly contingent from the Club's NW Area Group in attendance to support the racers, obviously heeding the plea recently issued to do just that. Shame, then, that only ONE team could be bothered to reciprocate the support by bringing their car to show at the Northern Ferrari Day & Concours taking place just up the road the next day. The JMH boys brought along their grand transporter with Phil Burton's spare 360/Ch and it duly won the specially created 'Competition Car' class.

  • er.......

  • That's it!
