HISTORIC FERRARI CHALLENGE - HOMESTEAD
At Homestead (Florida) in the first North American running of the new Historic Ferrari Challenge for vintage Ferrari race cars, the same three drivers took the overall awards in both 13 lap races. Chris Cox won both races in a 1981 Ferrari 512 BB/LM, with Lawrence Stroll, in an identical 512 BB/LM second each time. Tom Hollfelder took a pair of thirds in his 1971 Ferrari 512M. Cox and Hollfelder were also class winners, as were Terry Jones, in a 1960 Ferrari 246S, Allie Ash and Ed Davies in identical 1961 Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinettas, and Peter Giddings, in a 1932 Alfa Romeo Monza once raced by the Scuderia Ferrari.
