Giesse F333SP Makes it Five
At the sixth round of the International Sports Racing Series, on the Nurburgring, Emmanuel Collard/Vincenzo Sospiri took their 333SP to their fifth win in a row but only narrowly ahead of the Rafanelli BMW Riley & Scott of Steve Soper/Hans-Joachim Stuck.
The lesser F333SP of Didier Theys/Fredy Lienhard led initially on a wet track but was soon overhauled by Collard and was further hampered when co-driver Lienhard first spun the car and then took it to retirement with perennial transmission problems.
Collard and Sospiri stayed narrowly in front of the hard-chasing Riley & Scott BMW and finished a scant 9 seconds ahead. The second Rafanelli Riley & Scott finished in third place and there were further R & S chassis' in fourth and fifth places.
Collard and Sospiri have consolidated their position at the top of the championship table. The next round takes place at Le Man on 20th September.
