F333SP takes ISRS Title
Le Mans Bugatti, 19th September 1998

At the seventh and penultimate round of the International Sports Racing Series, the Ferrari team of Emmanuel Collard/Vincenzo Sospiri took their 333SP to a sixth consecutive win and thus clinched the inaugural ISRS title.

Although their win, from pole position, was an easy one, it looked as though the Rafanelli R & S BMWs could take second and third after the Didier Theys/Fredy Lienhard 333SP spun down to 16th place on lap 2. However, both BMWs retired, one with gearbox problems and the other with over-heating and Theys drove a storming race to finish second, albeit some three laps behind the winning Ferrari.

The other two F333SPs finished fifth (Lavaggi/Thyrring) and seventh (Calderari/Bryner/Zadra).

The final round of the Series takes place at Kyalami on December 6th.
