Scannavini Leaves Ferrari
Michele Scannavini, Ferrari's Commercial and Marketing Director, will leave the company this week to become the Chief Executive of Fila, the troubled Italian sportswear company.
Mr. Scannavini was brought to Ferrari by Luca di Montezemolo some five years ago to help return the company to profit. He was an essential part of the recent commercial success of Ferrari and, in particular, has been linked to the commercial merchandising activities using the Ferrari brand. These now account for about 10% of the group's annual turnover.
In part, Scannavini's decision to move to Fila also appears to have been taken because he felt he was unlikely to move further up the ladder at Ferrari following the appointment earlier of Paulo Marinsek as CEO of the Ferrari group.
