Mattel announces their 1999 Ferrari Line-up

The future of Ferrari scale models is still not clear and only a few details are emerging. An enquiry with Ferrari SpA has met with no response so far but an enquiry with Mattel as to the range of Ferrari models they will be producing has brought the following response from their Consumer Affairs department.

There are a few Ferrari cars for this year. Last year there was a Ferrari F40 part of the Dash for Cash series, there was also X-V racer Ferrari cars.
This year there is a 1999 Ferrari that is part of the 1st Editions and a Ferrari F512M part of the Treasure Hunt line. In the Matchbox line there is a Ferrari F40.

It seems scarcely possible that such an apparently major agreement with a model-maker should produce so few results, and fans of Ferrari scale models can only hope that the Mattel-Ferrari line-up is greater than the cars listed above.
