SHELL HISTORIC CHALLENGE : Coys Silverstone
31 July/1 Aug '99

The Coys Festival at Silvestone included two races for the Ferrari and Maserati disc-braked cars.

Both races saw only modest competition but the sights and sounds of some of the Ferraris were outstanding.

In the first race Patrick Stieger took his 512M into the distance ahead of his brother Christoph's 312PB. The latter had been given a remarkably difficult time by Duncan Dayton driving David Piper's 275LM.

In the second race, Patrick Stieger's 512M was an unfortunate non-starter, leaving his brother Christoph to take an easy victory in the 312PB, ahead of Dayton's 275LM and David Franklin's Le Mans Daytona.
