Ferrari to lose Asprey?
It is reported that Ferrari have lost the support from London jewellery giant, Asprey. The latter had been reporting poor financial results for some time and recently amalgamated with Garrards in what was seen as a rationalisation move. Various Asprey subsidiary businesses have been put up for sale.
In F1 Newsletter the Sultan of Brunei, who owns Asprey, is reported as having said that the company could not possibly continue with the sponsorship and that large financial demands were being made by Ferrari.
In the pre-Christmas edition of Autosport magazine an advert for Asprey Garrard could be found amongst the small ads offering items from their Ferrari collection, which may be an attempt at clearing their stocks.
