Michael Schumacher's start in the San Marino GP was his 97th in a Ferrari. This is the most for any Ferrari driver, one more than previous record-holder Gerhard Berger. Since I like stats, here are the number of starts:

So, what does this prove? Well, that Schumacher is an outstanding driver or that Ferrari have given him outstanding cars or a bit of both. Then, put Ascari in any old average Ferrari F1 of recent years and he would have finished second in both the 2000 or 2001 World Championships just behind Schumacher. And that Eddie Irvine missed out on Ferrari's best years when he chased the dollars and went to Jaguar - he scored 2.4 points per start whereas Rubens is now up to 3.3. Or maybe Rubens is the better driver, or......... As always with statistics, you can show anything you want.....
