DAVID Beckham shows life as a millionaire soccer idol can be tough when you have to fill up your own £120,000 Ferrari.

First, fiddling with that petrol cap can be a bit tiring. Next, there’s the hanging about in your designer gear as £70 worth of fuel glugs into the 20-gallon tank. Then you have to go home to the wife — just like anyone else married to a mega-rich pop superstar such as Posh Spice Victoria, 28.

Becks, 27, donned a pair of trendy £250 combat trousers and designer shades to take his gleaming black Ferrari Spider to a garage near the couple’s luxury apartment outside Manchester.

One onlooker said: “He roared into the petrol station and spent ages putting in £70 of unleaded. He paid with a credit card.”

England skipper Becks has been the envy of his Manchester United team-mates since buying the 183mph Spider — with personalised plates — last year. It is one of only a handful in Britain and Becks had it customised with a button gear change on the steering wheel.

The only snag is the motor guzzles petrol, doing only 16 miles per gallon. So, not long ’til the next trip to the pumps, Becks.
