Ferrari SpA have announced
details of the 40th Anniversary Tour for the 275 series, which
takes place in Tuscany in June 2004. The following are extracts
from the invitation which will go to all 275 owners:
All Ferrari 275s may participate in the event, including the GTB
- GTB/4 - GTB Competizione - GTS and Spider Nart. Around 1,000 275s
were built in all between 1964 and 1968. All 275 owners are welcome
to apply to take part in the Tour, but the models with the best
historic and sporting pedigrees will be preferred.
A maximum of 50 participants will also be selected according to
favour a strong international presence.
Tuesday, June
15th |
10.00 a.m.
Participants arrive at Maranello and Fiorano. Verifications
and delivery of event plates and race numbers. Participants
may, if they wish, have the authenticity of their car certified
at Ferrari Classiche and visit the factory. A light lunch will
be served trackside. Everyone returns to hotel. A welcome dinner
will be held in the evening at which Ferrari's top management
will greet participants.

Wednesday
June 16th |
9.30 Day
starts with the presentation of the new Ferrari models in
the factory and then a special stage at Fiorano before the
group sets off for Florence. There will be a special Vergato
- Cerelio stage also to celebrate the classic hillclimb once
held just outside Maranello
17.30 Participants arrive into
Piazza Ognissanti in Florence. All the
lanes and parking spaces will be reserved for them in the
Piazza. The sight of so many 275 together against such a beautifully
historic backdrop will be a magnificent view. The Piazza is
also home to the Excelsior Hotel and the Grand Hotel where
you will be staying. Dinner will be served in your hotel.
Participants may also attend a film showing on the history
of the 275 and hear the drivers who drove it to its greatest
victories speak about the great car.

Thursday June
17th |
9.30 Start of the Gran Tour
dei Vini Nobili (Ornellaia, Sassicaia,
Brunello di Montalcino, etc.) and the Balze di Volterra hillclimb.
Also lunch and visits to the Renaissance residences of the
region as guests of Niccolini da Camugliano, Ginori and Della
Gherardesca
18.00 Return to Florence. Dinner
at Palazzo Corsini on the Lungarno and an Opera Concert.

Friday June
18th |
9.30 Departure for Coppa del
Chianti, along the region's most picturesque roads, plus the
finish line of the special stage at Castellina. Lunch and
wine tasting in some of the region's leading villas.
Return to Florence at around 17.00
for special evening shopping in Florence's most prestigious
boutiques, which will be especially reserved fo the Tour's
participants only (if required).

Saturday June
19th |
9.30 head
for the restaging of the Coppa della Consuma (special stage),
from Pontassieve to Casentino, with lunch at Castello di Nipozzano
as guests of the Marquis Ferdinando Frescobaldi. After this,
it's on to the Mugello Road Circuit, a race which counted towards
the World Manufacturers' Championship in the days of the GTB,
with special stages on the course.
Return to hotel at around 17.30.
In the evening, participants will visit and have cocktails at
the Corridoio Vasariano, Florence's most exclusive art gallery
(usually closed to the public) which links the Uffizi and Palazzo
Pitti via the Ponte Vecchio. The Corridoio is home to some of
the greatest Renaissance masterpieces of all.
Gala dinner at the Museo degli Argenti in Palazzo Pitti.

Sunday June
20th |
9.30 Departure
for Maranello along the roads on which the 275 was tested by
echnicians and test-drivers alike. Arrival at Fiorano.
Prize-giving ceremony and farewell brunch. Event ends at 14.00.

The 275 tour lasts six days and six nights. The entry fee per team
is Euro 6,500 + VAT (1,300), a total of Euro 7,800 in all. This
fee must be paid by January 31st 2004.
Price includes: all hotel stays, lunches and dinners between June
15 and 20th inclusive as well as the organisation of the FIA-regulated
special trials and everything else outlined in the final programme.
It does not include extras in the hotels.
