Ferrari have announced the acquisition of Charles Pozzi S.A., the official importer of Ferrari and Maserati in France, and all its branches. The announcement states that the new direct management structure will be operative from January 2004. Andrea Castronovo, formerly Commercial Director at Maranello, will be General Manager. Working under him in the Commercial Department for Maserati will be Matteo Camesasca and for Ferrari, Edwin Fenech. Daniel Marin, President of Charles Pozzi S.A., will have the same role in the new operation. Founded by the French racing driver Charles Pozzi, who took part in the 1950 French Grand Prix in a Talbot, the company has been the official importer since the 1960s. It has 16 sales outlets. France currently takes about 5% of Ferrari and Maserati production. This acquisition lends further credence to the rumour which has been circulating in the Ferrari world for months that the UK importer, Ferrari UK (Maranello Concessionaires) Ltd, will also be bought by the Factory. Ferrari UK is currently owned by Inchcape plc. Click here to return to the Ferrari Happenings page.
