Robin
Ward's Damax team debuted their MSB-built 360 GT at the Oulton Park round
of the British GT series. The race was dedicated to engineer John McLoughlin,
the car's designer, who is currently recovering from a stroke.
The legendary Keith Green came out of retirement to manage the team effort
and PMFC and ex-GT racer Marco Attard put the car in 8th position on the
grid.
In the blazing Cheshire heat Marco had an eventful first half hour stint
and handed the car over to Robin in seventh place. The team's, Keith Green-choreographed,
slick 26 sec pitstop got the car out in fifth spot and Robin was soon
running third with second spot, behind the leading Johnson/Lynch TVR,
very much in sight.
But, with seven mins to go, it was not to be, the fab Ferrari was in the
tyre wall at Druids following a bout of terminal understeer.
The team were down but not out and intend to run at Spa in the FIA 1000Kms
on August 30-31st.
Here's hoping a sponsor will appear. If you are interested in sponsoring
