Dreams came true for motor enthusiasts when a convoy of Ferraris hit Dorset's streets in a charity fundraiser. About 15 of the sports cars flocked to the event at Wyevale Garden Centre in Owermoigne. The day, in aid of the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, saw people give donations to take trips with owners along the A352 and the dual carriageway to the Warmwell roundabout. Organiser Roy Twycross, from Portland, said he was pleased with the turnout. He said: "I started organising charity events like this in 1999 but this year I decided to bring the event to Owermoigne and it's gone really well." Bob Lewis, from Crossways near Dorchester, said he was delighted to achieve what had been a life-long ambition. "I've always wanted to go for a ride in one and now I've realised that dream. I suppose my next ambition is to own one so I had better start saving the pennies," he said. Mr. Twycross said he hoped the event, which was backed by Dorset Police and organised with the help of Wyevale manager David Hollinghurst, would raise cash and awareness of the trust, which helps people with spinal muscular atrophy.
