Newey raced well
in the Ferrari |
Rumours have shot throughout the motor-sport world with the news
that McLaren's star chief designer Adrian Newey has taken the plunge
into the 2003 motor-racing season - with a Ferrari.
He took part in two races at the BRSCC meeting at Snetterton over
the weekend of 8/9 November in Joe Macari's 355 Challenge and acquitted
himself well, finishing 5th in the first race and 3rd in the second.
Each time, PMFC front-runner Ted Reddick finished just ahead of
him and fellow PMFC racer Witt Gamski also confirmed that 'he did
drive well'.
It is not known whether this is an attempt by Newey to take over
David Coulthard's place in the F1 team or whether this is a plot
by McLaren to discover the secrets of Ferrari's current circuit
advantage - or whether he was just enjoying himself on a well-earned
weekend off.
