Now that it gets dark outside early in the evening, the classic
and exclusive cars do not go out much anymore. The racing season
comes to an end soon and many owners lock up their cars until the
new season begins again.
This is the time that indoor events start to be organized. For
the thirteenth time the Auto-Moto Italia exhibition was held in
the Euretco Expocenter in the middle of the Netherlands. As the
name suggests it is all about wheels from Italy. Although it is
a relatively small event the cars exhibited are of great quality.
There were eleven Ferraris of which one had a rather unusual interior
colour: mint green! You might expect that on a modern car but the
car in question was a 250 GT in silver. Other classics included
a dark red British registered 330 GTC and a light blue 365 GT.
The rest was filled with Ferraris of the early eighties both eight
and twelve cylindered cars. The only Ferrari V6 present was fitted
in a gorgeous silver Fiat Dino Spyder. Two additional Ferrari engines
could be found in the Lancia Themas 8.32 on display. But Italy does
not produce only Ferraris .....
The Lamborghini club displayed three marvellous cars including
a yellow Miura. Lambo-Rijssen showed three cars from Sant’Agata
Bolognese including the very rare Diablo GT-R and a massive LM002.
There was even an orange Urraco S present on another stand.
A Fiat-dealer had taken the new Panda to the show, while the Lancia
club had a Delta Integrale in Biason trim on their stand. Alfa was
represented with several classics that are still impressive cars.
There were also several Maseratis and some Italian bikes too.
One area was dedicated to automobilia. Here you could find many
stands with models, books, magazines and the like. It was a great
opportunity to look for that missing item for your collection.
When you have seen enough inside I recommend you to take a look
at the parking area outside. Although the weather had been bad the
day before many owners decided to take their collectable cars to
the event. Here you could find a rare 208 Turbo next to a Testarossa,
a 360 Modena, a Murcielago and an Islero, but also Alfa Romeos like
a Junior Z and a SZ. But also a non-Italian dream machine: A green
Aston Martin DB7 Vantage.
All in all it was a nice way to fill your Sunday.
