These pictures of what is alleged to be the (heavily disguised) replacement for the ageing 550/575 Maranello are currently circulating on the internet. In line with recent Ferrari trends, the car is said to be more generously proportioned than its immediate predecessor but the use of an aluminium chassis should mean no weight penalty. The engine is believed to be based on the 575's V12, but enlarged to 6.0 litres as in the 612. It is thought that the new tipo will be launched at the 2006 Geneva Motor
Show and will be named 600 Imola or 600 Maranello
