Scuderia Ecosse took the perfect result from the Easter Monday race meeting at Oulton Park today. Mirroring their win on Easter Saturday, Chris Niarchos and Tim Mullen took the win in race two of the 2006 British GT Championship. Mullen started the hour-long race from pole position and handed the Ferrari over to Niarchos with a 10-sec lead after a trouble-free stint. Chris then held off the challenge from Kimber-Smith in the Panoz, and took the chequered flag with some 6 secs to spare. Stewart Roden: "I'm delighted that we have started this season in exactly the same way as last year! We've had a great weekend and I couldn't have asked for any more. Considering the 430 is so new it is a testament to Michelotto and guys at the factory that it has run without fault, so thanks to them!" Chris Niarchos: "We just had a dream weekend! We didn't know what to expect from the competition before coming here so it's a great feeling to come out on top. Tom (Kimber-Smith) and Luke (Hines) in the Panoz are great competition and I think it'll be close this year. Oulton Park suits us but there will be circuits that suit them too." Tim Mullen: "It would have been fantastic to come away from Oulton Park with one win in the bag but to have two is a dream. I think Chris will surprise a lot of people this year. We are serious about winning this title; this is just the beginning." There was plenty of Ferrari interest in the GTC class with the Burton/Wilcox 360 finishing 15th in class (20 O/A) in Race 1 and inproving to 10th in class (16 O/A) in Race 2, with fellow JMH Automotive run driver Oliver Morley coming home 'best Ferrari in class' in R2 (12th 6 O/A). The Dove/Lockie 360 was 5th in class (10 O/A) and 13th (7 O/A) and the Greensall/Coleman car 17th (12 OA) and 19th (13 O/A). The next race for Scuderia Ecosse is round one of the 2006 FIA GT Championship,
the RAC Tourist Trophy, at Silverstone on 7 May.
