Net Revenues for the Quarter rose from Euro248m in 2005 to Euro317m in 2006, an increase of 27%, and Trading Profit improved from a loss of Euro8m in 2005 to a profit of Euro11m in 2006. The profit represents 3.5% of sales, still considered to be slender when compared with other luxury goods manufacturers but considerably better than when Maserati was still included in the figures. For Q1 '06 Maserati by contrast posted a loss of Euro19m. It is not identified where Ferrari's profits are made, whether it is from car production, merchandising, Formula One racing or other revuenue-raising efforts like the FXX programme and Corse Clienti. A total of 1,365 units were delivered to end customers, a gain of 15% over the First Quarter of 2005. The increase was put down to sales of the various F430 variants. The improved profitability was mainly attributed to the increase in volume and efficiency gains.
