We'd been wondering for a while what all this
baton stuff was about, but when we received an invitation from
Ferrari GB to attend the London event all became clear. 60 magnificient
Ferraris gathered in St. James Square on what felt like a warm
summer's day to greet the baton from its travels around the UK
whilst the owners were treated to a breakfast at the stately RAC
Club around the corner.
Then it was off to the Italian Embassy in Grosvenor Square for
a lunch-time reception hosted most graciously by the Italian Ambassador,
Giancarlo Aragona, who spoke glowingly of Ferrari's importance
to Italian commerce and sheer style.
The cavalcade then proceeded, under police escort, to Silverstone
for a photo-session before the baton was loaned to the Ferrari
Owners' Club who gave it pride of place at their Spring Ball which
was taking place at a nearby hotel. Here are some pictures of
