After endless months of tedious speculation, denial, counter denial and PR spin, Kimi Raikkonen finally took to the track today in a Ferrari F1 car. He was in a 248 and Massa in the F2007. The test was moved from Mugello to Vallelunga because of a bad weather forecast for the former circuit. Conditions were still not ideal, being overcast, with occasional rain, windy, with an air temperature of 15/16 °C and track of 15 °C. The day's programme comprised of Kimi getting to know the car, while
Felipe concentrated on development of the new car. The day's figures were
: 74 laps for Felipe (best time 1'14''493) and 39 for Kimi (1'15''226),
though Kimi only got five laps in the dry. They continue testing at this
circuit tomorrow. Mind you, anything's got to be better than at Dead Bull where Coolthud has said "We have to achieve more, otherwise people will have to be replaced". After THIRTEEN seasons of overpayment, underachievement and whingeing we can easily think of one person long overdue for replacement, Dave.
