At the Silverstone Ferrari Days meeting the Ferrari
Owners' Club GB organised an attempt at achieving a new Guinness World
record for the most number of Ferraris on track at the same time. There
were over 450 in the car park, and 385 of them took to the track to
be counted (twice) by the Guinness officials who pronounced themselves
satisfied that the old record (136) had been broken.
The hot weather, and the slow pace required by the counters, played
havoc with temperatures and clutches, and some of the competition cars
found it difficult to go so slow! The FXXs that took part had their
engine management systems adjusted for the slow pace but in the end
the record was achieved. So now the challenge goes out to other Owners'
Clubs - beat that!
