The Ferrari Press Office has just published the following Press Release: Ferrari GB is delighted to announce the opening of a new Official Ferrari Body Repairer in Slough which will serve Ferrari customers as part of a network of three official Ferrari Body Repairers in the UK. Operated by Bodytechnics Ltd, the new 26,000 sq ft facility includes over 4,500 sq ft of office and reception area with two private customer reception rooms, and employs 41 staff. Bodytechnics Ltd has the official Ferrari jig brackets for a comprehensive range of current and historic models, from the modern F430, 599 GTB Fiorano and 612 Scaglietti, stretching all the way back to the historic 208, including the 308, 328, 348, 355, 360, F40, F50, Testarossa, 456, 550 and 575. This ensures that they are able to make repairs to the majority of Ferrari road cars still in use in the UK today. The technical equipment in the bodyshop includes three David Utting XP1200 spraybooths with separate paint mixing and gun wash facilities manufactured in stainless steel for cleanliness at all times. The main workshop has eight Ravaglioli lifts for vehicle repair, a separate IT section with dedicated Ferrari diagnostic equipment, and a wheel alignment system with dedicated geometry ramp for optimal vehicle geometry. The £1m investment in the new facilities includes a state-of-the-art repair cabin for aluminium and steel bodywork, ensuring the metal repair activities are kept separate from the paint and vehicle finishing areas; these cabins are also split internally to ensure that cross contamination between aluminium and steel does not occur. All structural repairs using only Ferrari Approved Car Bench Muraena Jig systems are carried out in these cabins as well as panel forming and welding, with specialised equipment for aluminium welding to Ferrari standards. The paintshop includes 12 preparation bays which are capable of processing in excess of 20 jobs per day for painting. Bodytechnics also has a unique polishing ramp – designed to allow the operator to polish the vehicle at eye level which ensures the perfect finish every time. The floor is a resin floor which is cleaned continually throughout the
day to eliminate any dirt and dust that may occur during the process of
repairing vehicles. Finally, all vehicles are valeted and are processed
through a dedicated quality control bay which has over 3000 lux of lighting
to ensure a perfect finish is achieved every time.
