The year 2007 was a special year for Ferrari with the 60th. anniversary.
All over the world there were special happenings with a big final in Italy.
For the Ferrari Club Nederland it was the reason to collect 60 Ferraris,
representing the whole of Ferrari's wonderful history. The Club also held
its AGM at the same time and so the city of Maastricht turned Ferrari
red! But is wasn’t only Ferrari. There were several Porsche pavilions, a Bugatti presentation, old motorcycles, literature, scale models and many stands with car parts of all kinds. Staring with the philosophy that special cars need a special environment, much attention was paid to styling the stands in particular and the total show in general. Finely built stands, good lightning and ample space for every individual car gave a museum-like surrounding, where the cars were shown to full advantage. The Ferraris were shown in four blocks. Most of my photos were taken
at the VIP preview on the evening of the day before opening. That evening
there was a state dinner with car owners and other important guests and
in the early hours there was plenty of time to take more pictures, although
the light wasn’t optimal. One of the eye-catchers for me was the
212 Export Vignale Coupé Berlinetta from 1951 (#096E) in a very
special colour blue with, of course, the 170 bhp V12. The annual meeting of the Club couldn’t have been held in a better place. All members present and the members of Ascari [Dutch PHR - Ed.] that watched over the cars were surprised by the amount of cars. After the meeting itself there was plenty of time for a drink, a snack and some more pictures. The members of the Club -especially some of them- surpassed themselves in finding and decorating the location of this annual meeting. And I can tell you that it’s a hell of a job to collect 60 cars of this greatness and transport them from every corner of the Netherlands and beyond…
