Following weeks of speculation it has today been announced that seven times Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher will return to the sport in 2010 after retiring in 2006. He has signed with Mercedes GP (neé 2009 Champions Brawn GP), where he will of course be reunited with the architect of his former success Ross Brawn.

In a statement on his official website he says that that he has fully recovered from the neck injury which prevented him from substituting for Felipe Massa in the summer. He also gives thanks to and expresses his appeciation of Ferrari, the two having achieved so much together. We thank him for all he's done, are glad to see him back - even if it's in the wrong car and wish him the best of luck.
