29.7.09 BMW has announced today it will become the third major manufacturer (after Ford and Honda) to quit F1. They will go at the end of the season. "Premium will increasingly be defined in terms of sustainability and environmental compatibility. This is an area in which we want to remain in the lead. In line with our Strategy Number ONE, we are continually reviewing all projects and initiatives to check them for future viability and sustainability. Our Formula 1 campaign is thus less a key promoter for us." Rougly translated this means "We got blown off". Reading that, is it any wonder they failed? It'll be interesting to see if any proper racers take on the Hinwil facility and "Do a Brawn".
