The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is undoubtedly the most
traditional event which celebrates historic cars, being held for the first
time as long ago as 1929.
The grounds of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, on the shores
of Lake Como, offer guests and visitors the chance to admire about 50 Historic
Cars built between the '20s and the '70s, organized into different categories.
A panel of judges decide the Best of Show prize, but the public is also
a key element and the most traditional prize of the Concours, the Coppa
d’Oro, is actually decided by public vote.
This year's event took place 24-26 April, Jon Shirley's 1938 Alfa Romeo
8C 2900B Berlinetta Touring winning all of the Historic prizes. Click

We are fortunate that renowned automotive author, historian and foremost
Ferrari authority Marcel Massini was in attendance and has supplied us with
pictures and details of all the Ferraris there. We look forward to receiving
one of his definitive reports again one day.
