In 2010 the Ferrari 458 Italia won the “MSN Car of the Year” award. This was based on the number of readers who voted for the car in an online poll. Anyone who's had the chance to drive or have a ride in this tipo will know it was well deserved as it raised the supercar benchmark considerably, as McLaren found to their cost; a fact which has been universally acknowledged in the motoring media.

For 2011 the Ferrari 458 Spider is one of the cars eligible to win this award again. In addition to the 458's intrinsic advantages, it is equipped with a Ferrari patented, fully retractable hard top, a world first for a sports car with this lay-out. Currently the 458 Spider is sitting in second place behind the Lamborghini Aventador.

The corporate hand of VAG may well be fine for your everyday drive, we can all appreciate a Golf, a Skoda or a Bentley, but where is La Passione for a supercar?
