FERRARI HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP Robin Ward, whose bravery is worth about fifty brake, was bound to harry them, and this he duly did! On the long Lerghy Frissel climb Jon was well clear of the pursuing Ferraris, with Robin second and Peter third. On the two shorter hills Robin closed right in on Jon, and Peter Hayman maintained his third placing. Terry Esom (328GTB) was chased hard by Richard Baker (308GT4), with the Hitchman family a little further back, Chris having the edge over his father on this occasion with their 308GTS. John Dobson wielded his 308GT4 with a little too much abandon, making modest contact with the scenery at Lerghy Frissel. After liberal application of tank tape he was out again on The Sloc, the second of the two hills, and able to continue his personal contest with Nigel Stubbs (348tb) eventually getting the better of the more powerful 348. On the championship points front, Jon Goodwin pulled the maximum score from Robin Ward and Peter Hayman, very much as the scratch results had turned out. Our thanks to notes and report from Nigel Stubbs and times from Robin Ward.
