FERRARI HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP
REPORT : ROUND 3 : CURBOROUGH

Another cold, wet and miserable day, with Curborough at its uninspiring worst. There were six entrants in the Ferrari class on a weekend that clashed with the Isle of Man event which was also a round of the Ferrari Hillclimb Championship.

The on-off weather once again intervened during the competitive runs, with some drivers being lucky with a merely damp track, whereas others had to contend with thoroughly wet conditions. Newcomer Robin Ward (308GTB) amazed the more, shall we say, traditional competitors with his practice performance and he emerged as a very worthy second overall to the vastly more experienced Richard Allen (328GTB). Third was Robin Ashley with his pretty yellow Dino GTS who, during practice, set the quickest ever Dino time around Curborough.

With the various PEP factors applied, Robin Ashley took maximum points, followed by Robin Ward and Richard Allen.
