360 & 550 For FIA GT Series
31.1.00

Ferrari will be represented in GT by the 550 Maranello and in GT3 by the 360 Modena.

The Italian company Italtechnica is currently preparing a race version of the Ferrari 550 Maranello. The car will appear next week on a private track before starting a full test programme up to the end of February. The car has a 6-litre engine developing 580 hp with a weight of 1150 kg. The Hewland gearbox is sequential, with six speeds.

Two to three 550 Maranellos will be entered by First Racing, of which one will be driven by Fabien Giroix and Jean-Denis Deletraz. Another car could be entered by GTC Motorsport.

A Ferrari 360 Modena will be prepared and entered by the Italian Supertech team of Franco Scapini. The driver/team manager will share his wheel with Ivan Capelli, who once drove for the F1 team.

The latter has driven the team's F355 in several races already and is entered for the forthcoming Daytona 24-hours.

The Belgian team Windericx Sport should enter a Ferrari 360 Modena from Monza onwards. The car will be developed and driven by Swede Anders Olofsson, who has a long history of driving Michelotto F40 LMs and GTEs.
