Spa 24 Hours: Ferraris Quick But Unreliable

Two Ferraris took part in this gruelling 24-hour race and both acquitted themselves well, although neither finished. The Rafanelli 550 Maranello was extremely quick, qualified in second place and battled for the lead until it retired in the middle of the night.

The second Ferrari, the ultra-successful 360 Modena of the JMB team, qualified quickest in its N-GT class but almost from the outset was plagued with mechanical gremlins, following an incident with another car, which forced it to run towards the back of the field before also retiring in the 21st hour.
