Bikes and Ferrari
1.12.01
In February 2002, Ferrari and Colnago - a renowned Italian manufacturer of sporting bicycles - will offer a new bicycle in the exclusive Ferrari look: the CF2 mountainbike. Following the tremendous success of the CF1 racing cycle of which 500 units were made during 2000, and which sold out immediately, the CF2 will be manufactured in a limited production run of 999 examples. Like the CF1, the CF2 will be dedicated to the Scuderia Ferrari.
The CF2 will again sport the red Ferrari look and the open carbonfibre structure which were elements of the CF1's design.
Features are an independent triangle at the front made of carbonfibre and an all-alloy trapezium to the rear. The suspension of the rear trapezium is equipped with a lever system that gurarantees excellent comfort and performance both for off road- and street use. Front- and rear suspension are adjustable to the cycler's individual needs. The CF2 features a hydraulic disc-brake system.
Ernesto Colnago
stated: "I am very proud to link the world famous Ferrari brand once
again with Colnago. And I am sure, that this mountainbike will even
surpass the success of the CF1 racing cycle. It offers the most advanced
technology on the market."
Luca di Montezemolo added: "It is a great pleasure that Colnago - after
they already dedicated a very advanced racing cycle like the CF1 to
us - now even finished a mountainbike in the colours of the Scuderia
Ferrari. This demonstrates their unique capability of research, design
and technology ."
The CF2 will be sold through Ferrari authorized dealers at a price in the region of 8.000 Euros .
