Pity The Poor Test Driver

It's always the two drivers of any F1 team who pick up the points, the prizes, the plaudits and the adualtion. While they are relaxing in between the Grand Prix's look at what the "third" driver is doing:

Fifth and final day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro on the Fiorano track. The day's programme saw Luca Badoer alternating between no less than five examples of the F2001.

From 9.30 to 15.30 Badoer continued with development work, working mainly on set-up, electronics and new aerodynamic solutions.

From around four in the afternoon, he then switched to shaking down the three cars which will be used in the forthcoming Austrian Grand Prix. Badoer covered a total of 105 laps (11 on the short version of the circuit,) setting a best time of 59.819, which is his record on this track.

209: 20 total laps, 4 on short track, 9 practice starts
206 (RB race): 11 laps, 4 pit-stop practices
